Brief Description

Crosby Composites in Brackley, Northamptonshire are looking for a Composite Trimmer Apprentice. You will receive in-depth training on the trimming, bonding and the assembling of parts and how to work with carbon fibre components.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Vacancy Detail

Crosby Composites in Brackley, Northamptonshire are looking for a Composite Trimmer Apprentice. You will receive in-depth training on the trimming, bonding and the assembling of parts and how to work with carbon fibre components.

You will report to the Trim-Shop Supervisor.

You will be provided with in-depth training and appointed your own mentor to help you in detail when working on jobs. You will be trained step by step to ensure that your quality is the best that it can be.

You will also learn about:

Trim sanding
Bonding
Trimming down parts that have come out of the auto clave (an oven that essentially cooks the carbon fibre material to make the solid part)
Ensuring that parts are neatened, tidied up and ready to go out to the inspection department
Checking for high quality before anything goes to customers
Ensure workplace safety is practiced at all times
Maintain a clean and safe working environment

After a couple of months and having worked in both the Laminating and Trim departments, the Supervisors will then review your skills and knowledge, as well as take on board what you feel is better suited to you and your focus will then move onto just one of the departments.
