Future Prospects
During the programme, the apprentice will gain a Level 3 (or equivalent) recognised diploma/qualification, whilst also gaining valuable on-the-job practical experience. There may also be the opportunity to progress the apprenticeship towards an HNC (or equivalent) and Foundation Degree level.

Engineering Technicians take responsibility for the quality and accuracy of the work they undertake within the limits of their personal authority.
During your apprenticeship, you will learn a wide variety of specific and transferable skills within the engineering industry. You will be trained to carry out the application of safe systems of working.
You will also be trained to make a technical contribution to the development, quality assurance, manufacture, installation, commissioning, decommissioning, operation or maintenance of products, equipment, systems, processes or services.
This will include learning new skills on general maintenance, machining, assembling and fitting engineering.
In the role you will:
Perform first line routine mechanical & electrical maintenance, including removing and replacing components, cleaning, lubrication, inspection, testing, and fault finding and perform maintenance of programmable control systems.
Investigate and undertake electrical and mechanical breakdown repairs and apply ‘best practice’ techniques, including condition monitoring and preventative maintenance.
Participate in continuous improvement programmes, conducting root cause analysis and executing small projects. Working as part of a team to fulfil engineering objectives that improve plant performance. And work as a team with the production staff to optimise mill operations.
You will participate in safety improvement programmes and participate in project engineering, including involvement in the design stage.
You will attend Tresham College, Corby in September 2024
Year 1- Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at College. Years 2 and 3 - Wednesday at College.

You will need to consider how you will travel to Earlstree Industrial Estate and Tresham College in Corby
