Brief Description
For the duration of the Apprenticeship, you will spend your time gaining practical experience and developing your knowledge, along with obtaining formal qualifications, which are recognised and fully transferrable within the manufacturing sector.
Qualifications Required
You will need a minimum of three GCSEs at grades A*-D / 9-3 or Level 1 equivalent, ideally including English, math's, science and or a technical based subject such as engineering or product design.

You will be working in multiple manufacturing areas within the business, which are fast paced, producing finished components to a high quality standard and to strict deadlines.
You will perform production related tasks and processes to the highest quality, relying on your excellent attention to detail. You will need excellent communication skills as well as the ability to accurately follow work process instructions and work within a team. You will have a keen sense of achievement and take pride in the work you undertake and produce.
You will be:
The Apprentice Machinist will assist in production engineering tasks including the running of Turning, Milling, Drilling Manual & CNC machines.
To support the inspection, quality & assembly of products. Along with providing support to the stores department.
Using CMMs, height gauges, shadowgraphs, contraces, & surface testers,
Using micrometers, bore micrometers, depth micrometers, digital verniers, & clocks.
Using flatness testing, gauging methods, & thread gauges
Calibration accuracy
Company Metrics - understanding of the Companies /cell metrics, & individual performance measures
Understanding of machine capability & SPC
Problem solving techniques
Producing components to a high standard
Following processes and instructions both verbally and in writing
Quality checking and inspection of finished parts, with consideration for continuous improvement
Working to deadlines.
