Vacancy Detail
AGC Glass UK in Northampton are looking for a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice who is ambitious and passionate about an engineering career and keen to progress to a higher level in engineering.
You will be working with a small team consisting of a process engineer, a technician, a mounding technician, and an engineering manager.
You will support the maintenance team by learning and applying both theoretical and practical skills in electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
As well as this you will assist with routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment and machinery, contributing to minimizing downtime and ensuring the efficient operation of production processes.
So you will be helping with the general breakdown on machines such as assembly jigs, injection moulding machines and conveyors and repairing, cleaning, assembling, and making good electrical and mechanical assemblies.
During this apprenticeship you will learn:
Basic electrical knowledge – Understanding of wiring, circuits, and electrical safety.
Mechanical Aptitude – Familiarity with mechanical components, gears, and drive systems.
Pneumatic and Hydraulic Systems – Knowledge of how air and fluid-powered systems operate.
Troubleshooting Skills – Ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
Problem-Solving – Analytical thinking to identify root causes of failures.
Attention to Detail – Precision in identifying faults and performing repairs.
Technical Reading – Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
Basic Tool Handling – Competency in using tools like wrenches, screwdrivers, and multimeters.
Safety Awareness – Understanding and adherence to safety protocols in industrial environments.
You will also document and record work on CMS system.
Working hours may vary slightly to ensure you get all the training you need with experienced staff.
