Brief Description

Cafea UK Limited in Dunstable are looking for 2 apprentices to join their team. You will work work alongside Shift Engineers delivering a responsive breakdown response and Planned Preventative Maintenance.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A* - C) in English and Maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Cafea UK Limited is part of the Hamburg based Cafea Group GmbH established in 1955. They are the largest private label instant coffee manufacturer in the UK & EU with 8 factories and expertise in all areas of coffee production.

As a shift engineer apprentice you will support with the delivery of the Engineering functions remit, to minimise down time and increase the companies up time availability through delivering a responsive breakdown response and Planned Preventative Maintenance working collaboratively with Production and other functions to identify failings. As an Apprentice you will also work towards gaining a Level 2 Engineering Technician- Mechatronics pathway qualification.

So what will you be doing within the role?

You will support the deliver maintenance priorities (PPM’s) and ensure these are logged when complete in SAP to ensure failure to complete PPM’s is communicated.

You will support Shift Engineers in attending breakdowns on site ensuring there is always a rapid response and that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time is minimised.

As well as assisting Shift Engineers in carrying out repairs to plant, equipment and facilities during production, effectively and efficiently either alone or as part of a team.

Liaising with the Shift Engineers and Lead Engineer to plan & prioritise work to minimise downtime and maximise output.

Continuously identify ways to reduce costs and improve standards and efficiency in all areas

To achieve hygiene audit standards in the engineering function & plan and assist in routine shutdown for hygiene purposes

Championing Continuous Improvement within the company

You will assist in controlling the maintenance of service equipment.

To work proactively with all Team Leaders to develop and drive a culture safe working practices and environment

You will also be participating in the out of hours on call system when required.

Attention is drawn particularly to the existence of the Company’s policy statement on Health and Safety at Work. Any accident in the post holder’s area must be recorded in the accident book.
