Brief Description
Are you looking for a career in Engineering? Protech Stainless are based in Bedford and they are looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator and Press Brake Apprentice. You will be creating stainless steel parts for machinery based in the food industry and working with a busy team as well as working off site around the country.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role you will need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) or equivalent, in English and maths.

If you are hoping to begin a career in engineering? Then this employer wants to hear from you!
A significant part of this role will involve using the press brake system for folding sheet metal parts. You will receive full training in how to do this.
You will learn how to read production and engineering drawings. You will also fit machinery in the work shop which involves putting components together and using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding and cutting tools.
You will be involved in the improvement of the manufacturing methods on a wide range of products and, the employer will be looking for your ideas on how to improve methods.
You will be involved with projects about maintaining high standards. You will learn all aspects of sheet metal fabrication and the operation of the press brake in this role.
All aspects of sheet metal work and fabrication will be involved in this role as well as the opportunity to work off site, around the country.
Other Information
This role would involve handling heavy machinery and standing for periods of time.
Overtime is occasionally available.
