Brief Description
Jordans Dorset Ryvita has an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join their highly performing engineering team. The apprenticeship will be focused mainly on control systems but also give exposure to all aspects of their Engineering function.
Qualifications Required
You will need 4 GCSEs grade A*-C or 9-4 including maths, English and Science (Chemistry/Physics is advisable) or equivalent
Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, driven to succeed, confident, committed to the apprenticeship (workplace and college), have a genuine interest in engineering.
Skills Required
The ideal candidate must have a good understanding of PCs and a willingness to learn programming methods. Also, an understanding in mechanical and electrical system maintenance and improvement. A “can do” attitude and a proactive mindset alongside a genuine interest to continuously improve things will be looked for in applicants for this opportunity.
Experience in engineering or IT would be an advantage.
Training to be Provided
Technical Support Technician - Level 3
EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
EAL Level 3 AME - Technical Support Technician
Pearsons Level 3 Diploma & in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering

Jordans Dorset Ryvita has an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join their highly performing engineering team. The apprenticeship will be focused on maintance engineering but also give exposure to all aspects of their Engineering function.
The site has packing and processing equipment that require continuous improvement, maintenance and repair. The machinery on site ranges from basic mixing technology to state of the art high speed packing machines and from refrigeration systems to pick and place robots. The goal of this opportunity is to prepare you to become a maintenance engineer which will include training of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
The role will involve working with a friendly and committed team operating in a fast-paced environment and it will be based in the factory, where personal and food safety is paramount.
1. Supporting the maintenance of production equipment.
2. Routine maintenance and repairs, with the aim of ensuring the safe running of the factory.
3. Involved in preventative maintenance schemes, breakdowns repairs, site services and improvement/capital projects.
4. Working with the operators and managers to solve problems and implement changes to improve safety, quality, availability and reduce cost.
Working in partnership with Bedford College you will be supported through your apprenticeship and develop your skills and career within engineering. You will be assigned to an experienced mentor and a buddy during the apprenticeship who will help you to achieve your learning goals.

This role is predominantly days based but some weekends and shift work will be required, but also a commitment for self-study.
