Vacancy Detail

RSP UK was founded in 2016, as the UK subsidiary of the RSP group, who have manufactured premium suction excavators since 1993, when production began in Saalfeld, Germany. Over the last 30 years, the RSP brand has expanded globally and employs 500 people across three continents. RSP suction excavators are now at work in over 30 countries, enabling the company to offer customers a valuable combination of global intelligence and local insight. Since its inception, RSP UK has grown to 40 employees and is a trailblazer for technology that improves safety and efficiency across the UK construction, engineering, and utilities sectors.

As a Service Engineering Apprentice with RSP UK Ltd, you will gain valuable hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 apprenticeship, with college attendance beginning in September 2026.

In this role, you will support the service engineering team with the routine maintenance, inspection and repair of suction excavators and other company products, helping to ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards of performance and reliability. You will develop your skills by learning how to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults and assist experienced engineers in carrying out effective repairs.

You will also help maintain accurate service records, including maintenance logs, repair reports and parts inventories. As your knowledge grows, you will learn how to identify the correct parts and components required for servicing and repairs, helping to ensure they are available when needed and that stock is managed efficiently.

As part of your apprenticeship, you will assist with the day-to-day running of the workshop by cleaning equipment, organising tools and maintaining a safe, tidy and efficient working environment. You will also have the opportunity to accompany experienced service engineers to customer sites, where you will gain practical experience assisting with servicing, repairs and fault finding on a range of specialist equipment.

Health and safety is a key part of this role, and you will be expected to follow all company policies and safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself, your colleagues and customers. Throughout your apprenticeship, you will actively participate in training courses, workshops and other learning opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and practical skills.

You will also build strong communication and customer service skills by interacting professionally with customers and responding to enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner. RSP UK Ltd encourages apprentices to contribute ideas for improving processes and increasing efficiency within the service engineering department, making this a great opportunity to develop both your technical and professional skills.
