Brief Description

Industrial Electronic Repairs Ltd (IER), based in Letchworth, are seeking two motivated and enthusiastic Engineering Fitter Apprentices to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about engineering and committed to building a long-term career in the industry.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths (Science GCSE grade 4 would be an advantage but not essential).

IER are an experienced industrial electronic repair company, who have carried out global repairs for clients since 2001. Their professional team of engineers operate from various strategically placed UK workshops. Using their experience, training and state-of-the-art test equipment, the IER team repair a vast range of Industrial Electronic equipment.

As an Electronic Engineering Apprentice with IER, you will have the opportunity to develop highly specialised skills in an industry where experienced electronic repair engineers are in increasing demand. This apprenticeship offers a unique pathway into a rewarding engineering career, combining hands-on practical experience with structured learning and development.

Working alongside experienced engineers, you will learn how to diagnose, test and repair a wide range of industrial electronic equipment down to component level. You will gain experience working on equipment from a variety of manufacturing and industrial sectors, ensuring every day brings new challenges and opportunities to expand your technical knowledge. As your skills develop, you will learn to identify faults and complete repairs, often using your own diagnostic techniques where manufacturer documentation is unavailable.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will work closely with a knowledgeable team of engineers who will support your learning, encourage the sharing of ideas and help you build confidence in your technical abilities. You will also learn the importance of maintaining accurate service records and producing clear documentation of the work you have carried out, ensuring high standards of quality and customer service are maintained.
