Brief Description

Are you looking for a career as a Machine (Carpentry) Apprentice? AJB Group in Corby are looking for two apprentices to join them. You will be working in the Machine Shop department, where you will learn how to work with the latest technology, on all machines, including the latest CNC machines and so much more. Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths

Vacancy Detail

AJB Group in Corby specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality Joinery, fire door sets and panels. Established in 1999 and providing an excellent service for residential, commercial renovations and new-build developments of all sizes, they have gone from strength to strength.

You will complete In house test to become an machinist during this apprenticeship.

So what will you be doing in this role?

You will work with the latest technology and receive full in house training on all machines from: spindle moulders, morticer (a specialized woodworking machine ) panel saw and the latest CNC machines and much more.

You will be setting up machines and running test pieces.

Also marking for Joints, mortice and tenoning timber.

Machining of Rebates and Grooves and mitering timber (cutting the ends of two pieces of wood at an angle)

Planning timber and creating a Hinge Pocket.

Working to drawings and cutting lists whilst checking sizes and quality of items.

Working to standard operating procedures (SOP)

You will be working to company 5 drivers and working to all company policies and procedures, adhering to Health & Safety requirements.

You will also work in other departments to gain a full understanding of all the processes.

College attendance will be at Tresham College in Wellingborough once a week.
