Brief Description
Are you looking for a career as a Bench Hand in carpentry? AJB Group in Corby are looking for two apprentices to join them. You will be working in their assembly department where you will learn many skills such as door assembly, garage doors, front doors, using tools and equipment, working to drawings. Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths

AJB Group in Corby specialises in the design and manufacture of high-quality Joinery, fire door sets and panels. Established in 1999 and providing an excellent service for residential, commercial renovations and new-build developments of all sizes, they have gone from strength to strength.

So what will you be doing in this role?
You will be working in the Assembly Department, where you will learn the following:-
Assembling doors, bifold, garage doors, front doors, windows and door frames, using dowels, staples and adhesives.
You will be working in the refit department where you will gain experience of glazing apertures for various joinery products.
This also includes working on window frame, door frame, or glazing bar and, associated ironmongery and Intumescent (sealed) grooves.
You will be using an abrasive disc to remove the sharp, cut edges of frames and sanding items using hand sanding machines.
Working to drawings and cutting list, checking sizes and working to standard operating procedures (SOP)
You will be working to company 5 drivers and also learning the company policies and procedures.
Working to Health & Safety requirements.
As well as this you will also work in other departments to gain a full understanding of all the processes.
College attendance will be at Tresham College in Wellingborough once a week.
