Brief Description

To learn a full range of skills within the scope of plastic injection moulding machines. Including hydraulics, mechanical engineering, electrical, electronics, and plastics processing. The end result could be a role as a field service engineer .

Qualifications Required

You will need a minimum of three GCSEs at grades A*-D / 9-4 or Level 1 equivalent, ideally including English, maths, science and or a technical based subject such as engineering or product design.
Minimum NVQ level 1 in mechanical or electrical engineering
Also good grades in Physics

Personal Qualities

Enthusiasm, ability and desire to learn, punctual, reliable and good communication skills

Skills Required

Logical approach to problems and a willingness to want to learn. Also a basic engineering aptitude.
Being able to work as a team with the colleagues.

Performing Engineering Operations NVQ Level 2 Diploma (QCF) – with bias to match your chosen pathway

To learn all aspects of the injection moulding machine. Includes some refurbishment of older machines which will give a greater understanding of moulding principles
Hydraulic systems including pumps, valves and servo drives
Digital, solid state and Micro processor controls
Injection Moulding Process
New machines specifications and testing
The candidate will work alongside a skilled engineer for most projects in his first year.
