Future Prospects

After completing the apprenticeship, candidates could progress into roles such as a gardener, horticultural assistant, grounds maintenance worker, or trainee horticulturist. With further experience and qualifications, they could also progress into specialist horticulture, landscaping, conservation, or supervisory roles.

Vacancy Detail

Wild Magic is a community-focused organisation based in Dagnall/Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire (close to the Beds/Bucks border) that aims to protect and care for the natural environment while bringing people together through volunteering and creative projects. It provides opportunities for volunteers to contribute their skills, support the land, and help create a positive impact in the local community.

Key responsibilities of this apprenticeship will include;

Mowing grass, weeding flower beds, preparing soil, planting shrubs and trees, building raised flower beds, repairing pathways, installing edging, recording your completed work, conservation work, hedge trimming, wildlife habitat maintenance, litter picking, attending team meetings and weekly reviews/support with your supervisor.

You will attend Bedford College one day per week and on completion of the two year apprenticeship you will achieve a Level 2 qualification in Horticulture & Landscaping.
