Vacancy Detail

KS4 provides specialist Project Management, Employer’s Agent, and Cost Consultancy services to a variety of clients across a wide range of development sectors, working collaboratively to fulfil their clients’ objectives to an excellent standard. They specialise in the Residential sector, particularly Build to Rent (BTR), Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), Co-Living, Later Living, and Affordable Housing. As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor Apprentice with KS4, you will work alongside experienced professionals to develop a thorough understanding of the Quantity Surveyor role within a consultancy environment, often referred to as Professional Quantity Surveying (PQS) or client-side quantity surveying.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will gain practical experience across a wide range of quantity surveying duties while receiving guidance and support from senior members of the team. Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation of cost plans, carrying out measurement exercises, undertaking interim valuations and agreeing these with contractors, reviewing final accounts, preparing monthly client reports and presenting project updates. You will also support the production of contract documentation, issue tender documentation, assist with managing the tender process, contribute to change control procedures, undertake contract administration duties, and attend construction sites and project progress meetings to gain valuable first-hand experience.

In addition to developing your quantity surveying skills, you will have the opportunity to work closely with KS4's Project Managers to gain an understanding of the wider project management function. This will provide valuable insight into the different roles within a project team and the full development process from project inception through to construction. You will attend meetings, assist with the preparation of project programmes, reports and risk registers, and develop a broad understanding of how successful construction projects are planned, managed and delivered.

This apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation for a career in quantity surveying and construction consultancy while working on a variety of exciting projects in a supportive and professional environment. You will be based out of the KS4 London Office – 41 Moorgate, London EC2R 6LL. The start date for this programme will be in September 2026 with the exact date being agreed with the successful candidate.

You will be paid £8.00 per hour, in line with the National Apprenticeship minimum wage, in addition KS4 will cover all work-related travel expenses, including your travel to and from work, giving you the opportunity to gain experience across a range of project locations without any additional travel costs.

Other Information

To minimise health and safety risks associated with site visits and travel, applications will only be considered from candidates aged 18 years or over. Although all business travel will be fully funded, applicants should carefully consider the travel requirements, as the role is based in London EC2R 6LL with a prompt start time of 8:30am.
