Vacancy Detail
Squirrels Day Nursery in Corby are looking for an apprentice to join their team. Someone who is passionate about working with young children and babies.
Squirrels Day Nursery opened in 1995 and provided childcare for a 34 place setting in the local neighbourhood centre for children ages 2-4 years old. After receiving the Neighbourhood initiative grant the nursery was extended and a purpose-built nursery attached to the centre in 2004. The nursery then became a setting that offered full day childcare for children aged 0-5.
During your apprenticeship you will help the children develop and progress through having fun.
Their learning will be through planned play where you will engage with the children and carry out observations.
You will also carry out assessments to ensure they are learning and progressing through the Early Years Curriculum.
You will follow safeguarding policies and procedures.
As well as this, you will on occasion interact with their families and help to build good relationships.
You will help during snack time and support at meal times to promote healthy eating and making the right food choices.
In time you will support toilet training.
Support and development is vital and all of this is through play, guided learning and helping to keep the children safe, working alongside other team members to provide education, care and support.
The apprentice will attend the Kettering Tresham campus once a week from September 2026.
