Brief Description

About the Role:
Bedford Girls' School are seeking a practical, reliable and enthusiastic Property Maintenance Apprentice to join their site support team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in building maintenance, facilities, or the wider construction sector.
In this role, you will be supported by the friendly maintenance team & gain valuable hands-on experience whilst working towards a recognised qualification. You will contribute to the smooth and safe running of the school’s excellent facilities and be involved in a wide range of day-to-day tasks including compliance checks, basic repairs, preventative works and general building systems.
This is a fixed-term apprenticeship role, aligned to term-time working with flexibility for structured training and project support during holiday periods. The employment will conclude on 31 August 2027.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with repairs and breakdowns - often working to tight deadlines to minimise disruption of the schools operations.
Support the maintenance team during complex repairs under supervision.
Assist in maintaining logs for compliance with H&S standards
Engage in on-the-job training with experienced maintenance staff. Study and apply knowledge of mechanical, electrical and technical systems.
Complete any formal training requirements such as coursework or certifications.
