Qualifications Required

Vacancy Detail

Primarily home-based (UK - Bedford). Initial training will take place with the IT Lead in person. Regular travel to live construction sites in Notting Hill and Holland Park (London) is expected.

Maximising client ROI through innovative design and construction techniques. You will be working within a tight-knit team of professionals delivers the highest quality results.

As an IT Apprentice, you'll support our directors, project managers, site teams, and support staff across various locations. Working alongside the companies IT Lead, you will manage the day-to-day IT operations and infrastructure that power our business. This hands-on role offers real responsibility from day one, with structured mentoring and clear opportunities for growth.

Key roles and responsibilities, Include:

Infrastructure & End-User Support
• Manage and support Windows 10/11 and macOS devices used across the company.
• Set up new laptops, tablets, and user accounts (Azure AD / Microsoft 365).
• Install and maintain core applications: Microsoft Office, Foxit PDF Editor, ESET Antivirus.
• Administer Barracuda Cloud Backup and Email Archiving.
• Support mobile device configurations (iOS / Android).

Collaboration & Project Tools
• Maintain SharePoint sites for document control.
• Administer Microsoft Teams channels and permissions.
• Assist in building and maintaining Power Apps, Power Automate, and N8N workflows.
• Integrate tools with Microsoft 365 and manage reporting dashboards.

Website Support
• Support existing websites: content updates, backups, maintenance, and software upgrades.
• Collaborate with marketing to create new websites.
• Keep up to date with SEO trends and how AI impacts web visibility.

Network, Security & Compliance
• Monitor VPNs, Wi-Fi access, and remote desktop services.
• Ensure antivirus and security patches are applied.
• Maintain IT asset and licensing records.
• Support audit-readiness through structured documentation.

Field & Site Support
• Travel to construction sites to troubleshoot connectivity/hardware issues.
• Configure site devices for progress capture and photo-logging.
• Provide training on digital tools for project management and safety.
• Attend monthly progress meetings in London.

Documentation & Training
• Create and maintain user guides, Standard Operating Pprocedures, and quick-reference materials.
• Deliver training sessions (online and in-person) on Teams, SharePoint, and internal tools.
• Build and maintain a SharePoint-based knowledge base for IT support.

Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks.
• Gather feedback from end users to improve tools and workflows.
• Stay current with Microsoft 365 updates and IT trends in construction.

AI & New Technologies
• Research and evaluate emerging technologies and AI tools.
• Use AI to assist with troubleshooting, reporting, and workflow development.
• Propose and document new tools and process improvements.

Professional Development
• Mentoring with competency milestones (e.g., hardware, security, automation).
• Opportunities to manage small IT projects (e.g., rollouts, upgrades).
• Support in pursuing relevant certifications:
o Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate
o CompTIA A+ / Network+
o Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals

What the Company Offers:

• Full-time position: Mon–Fri, 8 am–5 pm (flexible for urgent site support).
