Brief Description

Do you want to work with children? As a Childminder Assistant Apprentice, you will work in Houghton Regis, working closely with experienced childminders to learn the essentials of providing high quality childcare. Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths.

A a Childminder Assistant Apprentice you will be working with Louise Hayes and her team in Houghton Regis, Dunstable.

This apprenticeship is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants to develop their skills in a professional and supportive setting.

The main responsibilities are to assist in the daily care of children, ensuring their safety, well-being and development.

You will be very much involved in activity planning to help plan and deliver engaging and age appropriate activities that help promote learning and creativity.

You will learn how to plan and prepare their meals and to assist in preparing and serving nutritious snacks.

Part of the role will involve going to play groups, soft play, parks, farms and even the zoo, all to promote health and activity for the children.

You must have a passion for childcare, with a genuine passion for working and playing with children and supporting development.
Essential qualifies for childcare are patience, empathy and reliability. These qualities will help you excel in your apprenticeship and provide high- quality care to children.

You will also be working towards your Early Years Practitioner qualification. College attendance will begin in March and delivered from the Bedford campus one day a week.

Your employer will carry out a DBS check if you are successful.
