Brief Description

St Ives Town Council are looking for a Grounds Maintenance Apprentice to join their team. The apprentice will learn skills in hedge and shrub maintenance, grass cutting and general grounds works in areas such as parks, cemeteries and allotments.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A* - D) in English and Maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Training to be Provided

- Level 2 Horticulture or Landscape Operative - Horticulture Pathway
- Functional Skills in English and maths if required

Potential offer of a full-time position as a Grounds Maintenance Operative upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Vacancy Detail

As a successful candidate you will be working as part of a team, learning skills in hedge and shrub maintenance, grass cutting and general grounds works in areas such as parks, cemeteries and allotments.

You will be working with an experienced Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, helping too look after the the property owned and maintained by the Town Council.

Grass cutting
Hedge cutting
Strimming
Planting of shrubs, plants and bulbs
Playground inspections
General maintenance

College attendance will be at Shuttleworth College starting in April 2025. Please ensure you are able to get to both the workplace and college.
