Brief Description

The Learning Centre in Kettering are looking for a Learning Centre Apprentice to contribute effectively to the promotion, delivery and assessment of ICT along with additional courses for wellbeing and safety, to provide support and guidance to Learning Centre students in Kettering and Corby and provide support to the administration systems.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths.

On completion of the apprenticeship the College will discuss your progression. This could be working towards your assessor qualification, carrying out student inductions, tutorials and reviews as 1:1 or groups. So this is a good opportunity for you to eventually have a teaching career.

Vacancy Detail

As a Learning Centre Apprentice you will have many different duties, for all these duties you will receive training as well as achieving a Level 3 business qualification.

In time you will help students to achieve their learning aims through effective guidance, induction, delivery and assessment, including facilitation and tutorials.

You will also learn to ensure that student inductions, tutorials and reviews are carried out timely and recorded accurately and organise, administer and maintain student files in accordance with the Learning Centre systems.

As well as this you will support the administration of student bookings and absences using the computerised database system and also organise, administer and maintain student files and student progress tracking records.

The employer is looking for someone who enjoys working with people. You will need to be extremely patient and empathetic in this role.
Safeguarding is also very important and something you will learn about during your apprenticeship.

You will be expected to keep up-to-date with current developments in Computing and Information Technology. And also attend team meetings and appropriate staff development sessions.

You will work effectively with the Learning Centres Manager and colleagues and learn how to achieve recruitment, retention and success targets. And maintain a safe working environment in line with Health and Safety legislation.

In this role you will learn how to understand and work effectively with a diverse range of cultural groups and with people with disabilities.

An important part of the role is being responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young persons and vulnerable adults in line with the Centre and College policies and procedures.

You will also perform any other associated duties as directed by the Director or Learning Centres Manager.
