Brief Description
BD Precision Engineers Ltd are Looking for Apprentice to operate, set and program CNC milling machine as well as inspecting the components produced in their fully equipped inspection department.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role you will need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths or equivalent.

Vacancy Detail
BD Precision Engineers Ltd are based in Leighton Buzzard, They specialise in CNC machining. With 3,4 and 5 Axis CNC Mills and a live tooling lathes they produce precision components for many sectors. With a fully equipped inspection department they ensure the quality stays at the highest of standards.
So what will you be learning?
As a CNC Machine Apprentice your main role will be a CNC Operator where you will report directly to the Senior Machinist. Under supervision throughout the training period you will learn how to operate CNC milling machines and lathes. You'll also learn hand techniques to finish parts and remove any sharp edges (Deburring).
You will also carry out inspection of machined parts using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), gauges and other inspection aids and check that work meets quality and technical standards.
You will perform routine inspection maintenance, checking that work meets quality and technical standards and perform routine maintenance.
As well as this you will help to maintain a safe, clean and tidy working environment and replenish coolant and lubricating fluids.
Other Information
There will be a mix of both hands on and computer based work required. The computer based work will take place once the basics of machining have been learnt. The environment is within a factory and machining can generate noise. Candidates must carry out an initial interview with a member of Bedford College.
