Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role you will need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and Math's or equivalent. A relevant qualification in IT would be desired such as GCSE/ A level.

Vacancy Detail
Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) is a Multi-Academy Trust bringing together three specialist provisions St John’s Special School, Grange Academy and Greys Education Centre. BILTT is set to open the new Rivertree Free School in Kempston in the next academic year. BILTT schools are dedicated to serving pupils facing a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges, including moderate learning difficulties. Additionally, providing support to young people who, due to reasons such as exclusion or health concerns, cannot access mainstream school services temporarily.
As an IT apprentice you will make a major contribution to the successful support of the IT systems managed by the Trust’s IT services team, ensuring the smooth running of the systems and strive to assist all users to operate at optimum efficiency in the delivery of ICT. This is an investigative and customer facing role, which requires good communication skills, problem solving techniques and a pro-active attitude to work.
So what will you be learning?
You will learn from your IT colleagues and developing your IT skills in line with your apprenticeship program.
You will receive training from your apprenticeship provider, undertake apprenticeship coursework and other work required by your apprenticeship provider.
You will provide 1st line IT support to staff & pupils across central services and all school sites.
As well a providing IT support to users contacting the helpdesk. Ensure all jobs are logged within the Helpdesk and to provide remote support to telephone users.
You will ensure that the IT equipment is fully functioning and perform regular maintenance on IT equipment as directed. Setting up new machines, swapping faulty devices, carry out fault-finding, repair equipment where possible and organise external repairs where necessary.
You will escalate IT support issues to an appropriate colleague.
You will help to ensure the smooth running of all computer equipment within the Trust and responding to urgent IT issues.
You will support project roll-out across the Trust.
In addition to travel to BILTT schools for IT patch visits and to assist IT colleagues where required (travel allowance will be agreed).
Ensuring that systems and software are implemented in line with the Trust’s IT policy and be aware of and advise your line manager on all Health and Safety matters relating to IT.
Any other duties commensurate with the post, as agreed with your line manager and senior leadership team.

Ability to travel across school sites within the Trust
