Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths.

Personal Qualities
You must be driven and committed to achieve with a keen sense for problem solving and being hands on with equipment with a willingness to learn and take instruction.
You should have an enthusiastic and genuine interest in engineering and be willing to study an Advanced Apprenticeship.
You should also be flexible and adaptable to be able to work within any production unit in the Plant.
Skills Required
Strong problem solving skills is essential for you to be successful, as well as the ability to work independently and also as a part of a high performing team.

Level 2 Functional Skills English and maths if required

Vacancy Detail
Vauxhall is part of the Stellantis Group which is one of the world’s leading automakers, home to 16 Automotive brands including;

This role is based at the Vauxhall Motors Manufacturing Plant in Luton, UK. There are nearly 1,500 employee’s based at the site building light commercial vehicles (van) under the Citroën, Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and Vauxhall badges. It is a fast paced, high volume site working across 3 shifts and producing around 500 vans a week, for the end customer.
Starting in September 2024, this is a four year advanced apprenticeship. As an Engineering Technician Apprentice, you will ensure that equipment is maintained to a standard necessary for the production of high value manufactured vehicles.
Typically the work covers a broad range of activities including installation, testing, fault finding and the on-going maintenance of complex automated equipment. This requires the application of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviours across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.
Please note that this is not a mechanical role that involves working on or fixing cars/vans. This role is centred around maintaining the robotics and other equipment that is in place in the factory that enables Vauxhall to manufacture the vehicle.

Other Information
During the first year of your apprenticeship, you will be based full time at Bedford College 5 days a week. From year 2 you will be working 4 days a week at work and 1 day a week at college.
From year 3 you will move on to the plants shift pattern which currently consists of 2 weeks working 6:00am - 1:45pm and 2 weeks of working 1:45pm - 9:30pm.
