Vacancy Detail
Shine Learning & Training Centre is a registered not-for-profit Community Interest Company which aims to make a difference to the life outcomes of students who find mainstream education challenging. They offer a good quality alternative education, that provides a home from home approach but focuses on mentoring and prevention work whilst also ensuring students’ academic needs are met and celebrated.
The main part of your role will be to support and assist students and teachers in the classroom. You will be providing support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher. Part of your role will include promoting self-esteem, independence and enabling students to feel secure and happy and proving feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement under the guidance of the teacher. In addition, you will be promoting good behaviour, dealing promptly with conflicts and incidents in line with established policy, and encourage students to take responsibility for their own behaviour.
