Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Vacancy Detail

Wootton Upper School and Arts College is an academy operated by Wootton Academy Trust. It is one of the top performing schools in Bedfordshire with a reputation for high standards, in both the curriculum and the breadth of the extra-curricular opportunities available to all our students, as evidenced in the recent Ofsted Report on the school. It teaches years 9–11 in compulsory education and years 12–13 in compulsory education at Kimberley College.

The main part of the role will be to work in partnership with teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum and provide support to students in a particular curriculum area and support students with varying degrees of learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties. Part of your role will include establishing positive relationships with supported students, assisting with the planning of necessary learning activities and supporting the teaching of literacy, numeracy or other specific curriculum areas. In addition, you will liaise and provide feedback to parents, teachers and outside professionals. supervise students during break-times, attend relevant meetings and school events such as open evenings and assist with escorting students on educational visits.

The role is term time only term but you will need to attend training days and one additional week in the half term.
