Vacancy Detail
Goldington Academy is a very successful secondary school in Bedford. The secondary school serves an established area to the north-east of Bedford town centre and currently has 900 students on roll. The school, which is very well resourced with interactive facilities in each teaching space and has been rated good by Ofsted.
The responsibilities of the role includes using finance systems to maintain accurate and complete records of all income and expenditure within the school accounting system, working at all times in accordance with the school's agreed financial procedures. Part of your role will be to assist in the preparation of the annual budget, carrying out month and year end procedures, produce data and reports on financial matters and receive and record cash and cheques received from pupils, staff, and external customers. In addition, you will carry out reconciliation of bank statements, deal with payment of invoices, record details, raise invoice and credit notes and record and reconcile credit card transactions and statements.

The role is term time only term but you will need to attend training days and one additional week in the half term.
Following a successful interview with Bedford College, references will be obtained prior to interview. This will include filling in a full application form on the school's template, including reference requests prior to the interview (for school leavers, it will be mandatory for one of these to come from your school's Head Teacher/Master).
A full DBS check will be required for the successful applicant.
This role is term time only, plus training days. Due to the nature of this role, holiday or other planned absence during term time is not normally permitted.
