Brief Description

Are you looking for a career in Engineering? Twiflex in Bedford want to hear from you. This is an ideal opportunity to start your career in engineering for Twiflex who are a global leader in power transmission, based in Bedford. Twiflex were founded in 1946 and specialise in the design, manufacture and supply of Advanced Braking Technology for industrial applications. Continual development has resulted in the company being able to offer the world’s widest range of industrial disc brakes.

As a Mechanical Assembler/Fitter Apprenticeship you will acquire all the skills and knowledge to become fully qualified as an Assembler/Fitter across the entire production unit.

So that you can acquire all the practical skills needed, you will spend periods of time in each cell working along side skilled Assemblers and Fitters to learn the principles of each process.

The job will involve:

Working from priority build boards and select kit of parts for the next assembly. You will use engineering drawings and written working instructions to determine the process required to carry out the assembly procedure. You will verify the kit of parts for completeness and refer any discrepancies or quality issues to Supervision or to Quality Assurance.

As well as this you will assemble units in accordance with the procedures, using air tools and spanners and test completed products to specification detailed against the customer's orders. You will then record all test data against the order and forward to Quality Assurance.

Ensuring that you comply with all company health and safety rules at all times, wearing of PPE and report any health and safety concerns to your supervisor.
