Vacancy Detail

Leggett & Platt (formally Meggitt PLC) is a global engineering group specialising in extreme environment components and smart sub-systems for aerospace, defence and energy markets. The Meggitt Control Systems (Dunstable) facility specialises is high temperature, high pressure metallic ducting, flexible joints, bellows and braided hoses for the space, aerospace and marine platforms.

The successful apprentice at Leggett & Platt will be required to perform a variety of activities in order to assist in the manufacture of components and ducting for use in the aerospace industry. The role will be in a supported learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge which will assist apprentice to complete their required training to secure employment and progression in their career within the company, the successful apprentice will learn how to undertake sheet metal work, welding activities, operate machinery such as Lathes, Milling machines, Grinding machines & computerized numerical control (CNC). Apprentices will be employed on a full-time basis, combining both practical training together, with day release for college based studies to achieve a recognised industry standard qualification.
