Do you want to join a rapidly growing company with great career prospects? JWG Survey & Engineering Limited are looking for a Engineering Surveyor Apprentice. Working as part of a team you will gain knowledge and develop your surveying skills.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) or equivalent in English and maths.

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

You will also study a range of topics, including: construction and the built environment, further mathematics in construction, science and materials, construction technology and design, surveying in construction and civil engineering and structural analysis and design.

Future Prospects

Become a fully qualified engineering surveyor and grow alongside the company, taking on more responsibility as your skills increase on completion of your apprenticeship.

Vacancy Detail

*THIS ROLE IS BASED IN BEDFORD AND YOU WILL ATTEND BEDFORD COLLEGE*

You will learn how to use surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS and 3D laser scanners.

Daily tasks and skills will Include learning to be precise in practical surveying and how to manage and process survey data on a computer, working on-site and office-based locations.

You will take record and document appropriate geospatial measurements to the required specification and work with other professionals, clients, customers and others to obtain and provide geospatial information. (Geospatial data is information that describes objects, events or other features with a location on or near the surface of the earth).

You will perform calculations and use geospatial data and keep surveying equipment, clean and well maintained.

You will learn the instrument coding and the procedure for taking observations to be precise in practical surveying and taking observations and also, learn how to download files from the instrument to office PC. You will develop skills in AutoCAD and other surveying software.

*THIS ROLE IS BASED IN BEDFORD AND YOU WILL ATTEND BEDFORD COLLEGE*

You must be able to travel to the workplace, with some early starts and night shifts when working on site.
Working outdoors means working in all weather conditions.
Working away from home may be required, potentially for long periods of time, accommodation and meal allowance is covered by the company.
