Tresham College in Kettering are looking for an IT Technician Apprentice to support delivery of efficient and effective IT services across our sites and to support directly the computing team at the Tresham campuses (Kettering, Corby & Wellingborough)

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) or equivalent in English and maths.

Vacancy Detail

This position for an IT Technician Apprentice is a 22 month contract.

Part of your role will be to contribute to the delivery of an efficient and effective IT service by configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting IT equipment and services at college group sites. You will also monitor and administer IT in all locations, supported by Bedford College Group IT Services, and ensure that systems and resources are maintained in a good state of repair and records for these resources are accurate.

You will liaise with teaching staff to ensure that specialist systems and services are properly configured and support and work directly with the computing team (Tresham sites) to provide technical support and assistance as requested by lecturers in the computing area. You will work with Tutors and students undertaking practical activities within the Computing area. And assist with planning and then prepare equipment as requested by Computing Lecturers in order for practical lessons to take place as planned.

You will assist in the smooth operation of remote sites across the Group by responding to requests in a timely and efficient manner, logged via the Service Desks





Other Information

The learner will need to attend college starting in September (sessions are - 2pm-3.30pm self-study in the library/ 3.30-5pm supported learning from curriculum tutor / 6pm-9pm the CompTIA A+ and Security.

Willingness to work occasional evenings as required.

Ability to update skills and undertake appropriate staff development.
