Brief Description

Are you looking for a career in engineering? RML Group are based in Wellingborough and they are looking for the right apprentice to join their expanding team.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) or equivalent, in English and maths.

Vacancy Detail

RML Group work on many projects that require parts and components. Some of these components will have rough edges or slight imperfections through the manufacturing process. Some come in sections which will require assembling or bonding together. The Composites Team make sure that everything is perfect for the next phase in the production process.

You will learn and develop the skills required to fulfil the role of a Composites Technician, such as reading engineering drawings and symbols, using hand tools as well as measuring and marking out materials and then bonding and trimming these materials. You will learn all about the design process and why certain materials are used.
You will also be trimming and cleaning molds and patterns.

Your role will be very varied and you will be undertaking a different task every day.

Candidates must carry out an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team.
You will have a salary review every 6 months. At each 6 month point the employer will review your progress and you will receive a pay increase if you are achieving expectations.

We are looking for tinkerers who like to take things apart and rebuild them to understand how they are put together Your hobbies might include things such as model kit building, RC racing, woodwork or metalwork.
