Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) or equivalent, in English and maths.

Training to be Provided

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Plumbing & Domestic Heating Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

You will also study a range of topics, including:
Health and safety, core plumbing systems, electrical components and control systems, plumbing science and processes, principles of environmental technology systems, principles of fossil fuels, customer service and communication.

Vacancy Detail

This is a very busy but rewarding role where most of your duties will include Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures including central heating, above ground drainage and rainwater drainage.

You will also help with general maintenance, water temperature and legionella testing as part of general water care works. You will be inspecting and testing plumbing systems and cutting, assembling and installing pipes, and you will maintain gas and liquid heating systems.

You will carry out general maintenance tasks to maintain and improve the appearance of buildings, services and equipment. And be prepared to undergo training and to continuously develop your technical skills. You will need to source and obtain materials, and plan for jobs when necessary.

Other Information

When asked to attend training courses, such courses will be funded by Wellingborough School.

May need to attend larger schools events such as open days, the ball or fireworks night. A reasonable amount of overtime may be required regarding these.

Candidates must carry out an initial interview with a member of the Bedford College Apprenticeship Recruitment Team.

This apprenticeship has expired
