Brief Description

Would you like to begin a career in carpentry? Grays & Sons Builders are a family run business based in Bedford and are looking for a Carpentry Apprentice to join their friendly team.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths.

Vacancy Detail

Gray & Sons Builders Ltd have offered quality construction services across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire for over 50 years and they are looking for an apprentice carpenter to join their team.

To become a carpenter, you will need to have good attention to detail and be able to follow technical drawings and plans. In this role you will be cutting and shaping timber for floorboards, skirting boards and door frames, making and assembling doors, window frames, staircases and fitted furniture, fitting wooden structures, like floor and roof joists, roof timbers, staircases, partition walls, and door and window frames (first fixings)

And installing skirting boards, door surrounds, doors, cupboards and shelving, as well as door handles and locks (second fixings)

You will also be building temporary wooden supports for concrete that is setting, for example on motorway bridge supports or building foundations.
