Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Training to be Provided

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

You will also study a range of topics, including: Construction and the built environment, Further mathematics in construction, Science and materials, Construction technology and design, Surveying in construction and civil engineering and Structural analysis and design.

Future Prospects

After successful completion of the apprenticeship there will be a potential opportunity to progress within the role to Technician (salaries ranging from £25K - £35K). Possible longer term progression to Senior Technician (£35k - £45k) and ultimately to a BIM Manager (£40K+) – overseeing and managing the Technician team. There is also the potential for further study to complete the Level 4 Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship.

Vacancy Detail

Pinnacle Consulting Engineers are a leading provider of civil and structural consulting services. They are looking for two people to join them. Their areas of expertise include structural and civil engineering, building information modelling, flood management, infrastructure design and transportation & highways. They work across a number of sectors including retail, data centres, logistics, residential, public authorities, logistics and energy.

The apprentice will be using design software to interpret Engineers designs into drawings; these drawings are used to build the framework for buildings. Part of the role will include: supporting and interpreting Engineers' designs into drawings and develop knowledge of various construction materials and methods (steel, timber, concrete and masonry). You will also work as part of a team producing drawings to an agreed programme ensuring successful delivery of projects on time and within budget and professionally communicate and represent the company with all external clients and customers.

Please note this is an office based role.

Other Information

The role will involve both long periods of working on a computer and from time to time visiting client sites, but it is mainly office based.
