Brief Description

Equibuild Construction are looking for a Bricklaying Apprentice. Your work will range from labouring and carrying bricks to site to laying bricks and blocks. It will be physical work.
Is this the sort of career that you have been looking for? You will also be able to achieve a qualification in brick laying.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Vacancy Detail

Are you looking for a career in bricklaying? If so then this employer is looking for an apprentice.
The successful person will be:

- Carrying bricks, blocks and mortar to locations around site for bricklayers to work (known as HOD carrying)
- You will be doing groundwork, placing blocks and beams,
- Slurrying blocks and beams
- Knock out new openings.
- Prop existing walls and take down and rebuild new walls
- You will be expected to learn all aspects of bricklaying
- Cleaning up work areas

You will eventually work on multiple different sites, but you would be working on a couple of sites to begin with to give you consistency.

This company are looking for someone who is willing to learn and who is reliable and in return will be taught everything required to complete the course and have a job within the company.

Other Information

Depending on location, hours of work can vary. Your start time could be between 6am-7am, but is normally 8am to 4.30pm or 7.45am to 4.15pm this includes two half hour breaks 10.00-10.30am 1.00-1.30pm.
There is optional Saturdays for which you will be paid a full days pay for working till at least 2.30pm.

It would be preferable for you to drive to get to a pick up location as the employer has an allocated crew cab to pick up operatives. There may be some instances in which you are asked to get to site yourself, in this case you would be covered for your travel costs.
Pick up point will either be Bedford town center or Wootton.

Candidates must carry out an initial interview with a member of Tresham College, (Part of the the Bedford College Group)
