Brief Description

Are you looking to get into business?
Graduation Attire in Bedford are looking for a Business Apprentice to assist the customer care and the accounts department and help with Production Planning to assist the operations and supply chain team from purchase to dispatch.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required).

You will also study a range of topics, including: IT, record and document production, decision making, planning and organisation, project management, policies, relevant regulations, stakeholders, processes and external environment factors.

Vacancy Detail

There will be some overlap and dual responsibilities, as you might expect in a small company, due to the fact that many hats are worn by the employees.

One of their company pillars is that, no task is beneath anyone and, they are trying to keep that small company feeling but, with the added expectations of excellence and quality underpinning everything they do.

The role will expose the lucky individual to the growth that they are experiencing, a doubling of their business every year is expected for the next three years. They have just won two more contracts.

They need individuals who can think on their feet and bring solutions not problems to the table.

The production planning role will be mainly liaising between the various departments, making sure they have enough items to fulfil orders by forecasting and planning ahead.
Stock control and validation will be key parts of this role. You will also:
• Provide support to clients and customer enquiries accessing our online booking systems
• Download and send booking reports at regular intervals to clients
• Assist in stock counts
• Assist in preparing orders and maintaining the project boards progress
• Draw diagrams and illustrations for production orders using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Learn different types of stock, dispatching on Linn works and for international
The Production Planning Apprentice will work with the Supply Chain Manager, Designer and Warehouse Managers

The business role, which you will also learn about, will primarily focus on the sales and purchase interactions with the outside world.
This will include learning the accounts side of the business under the finance officer
• Create and send Purchase Orders
• Locate and upload Xero invoices
• Keep track of payments in for invoices and reconcile sales on Xero
• Contact customers about outstanding invoices
• Be on hand to help get the accounts ready for VAT return
• Create and send sales invoices.
• Deal with refunds
• Help with manual payments
• Query resolution
• Help with private hires

Everyone is expected to chip in at busy times, preparing for ceremonies. You will also work with all departments at some stage to gain a full understanding of the business.

The Operations Manager will let you work with him for one day a month, showing you how you run a business and involving you in the hard decisions that you have to make when the boss!

In your final month, if you have gained enough knowledge and experience, he might let you make the decisions for the day!

There is much we could write here but the truth is, this growing company are looking for enthusiasm, and someone who is willing to learn many tasks and end up with a good knowledge of how the company is run. This will allow you to grow with the business.

Other Information

There will be a lot of hard work along the way but also a lot of fun. The employer can send you to their graduation ceremonies that are throughout the year at Bath, Lancaster, Portsmouth, Northampton, Exeter and many other smaller ceremonies too, sometimes staying overnight in hotels and being part of the robing teams for the graduates of tomorrow.
