Brief Description

An exciting new position has become available as a Turbine Craft Apprentice at Turbo Machinery Services Ltd in Bedford. The main role of the apprentice will be to support the workshop in working these rotary turbines, in the site and with the project management teams, whilst developing skills in the business.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Future Prospects

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there may be a full time job where the candidate can progress forward with the company. This could be for example Field Service Engineer or Workshop Engineer

Vacancy Detail

The main roles and responsibilities of the apprentice will be to support the workshop manager and develop ability to carry out:

- Process of workshop jobs through shop floor
- Creating, progressing and completing job packs
- Amending and updating drawing registers
- Understanding drawings and parts lists
- Understanding and meeting quality control on each job
- Support preventative maintenance in the workshop
- Awareness of work in progress, deadlines and upcoming planned and emergent works
- Assist in the generation of quotations and pre job planning for both site and workshop works through site visits and planning meetings
- Understand and help control health and safety measures in the workplace
- Help control manage and maintain consumables in the facility
- Control manage and maintain site toolboxes and equipment
- Carry out regular workshop reviews with workshop manager
- Project support of the operations team as required
- Site support of the company as required
