Brief Description

Tresham College in Corby are looking for a Sales Support Apprentice to join their Business Development team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a department with a track record of successfully supporting their apprentices through their apprenticeship and into permanent positions within Business Development.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-3 (A*- D) in English and maths or the ability to work towards Level 2 Functional Skills during the programme.

Training to be Provided

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required).

You will also study a range of topics, including: IT, record and document production, decision making, planning and organisation, project management, policies, relevant regulations, stakeholders, processes and external environment factors.

Future Prospects

The possibility of a job within Business Development or within another department at the college on successful completion of your apprenticeship.

Vacancy Detail

As a Sales Support Apprentice, you will play a pivotal role in providing administrative support to the Business Development department, which will include assisting a team of Account Managers as well as the Apprenticeship Recruitment Team. Your assistance to the department will also be supporting the next generation of apprentices, at the start of their journey.

You will complete a wide range of mandatory and non-mandatory training which will support you both in your role and beyond. This apprenticeship will provide you with the opportunity to develop a broad range of transferable administrative skills to use throughout your future career. It's important to remember that administrators play a crucial role in any organisation. They help make things run smoothly and develop knowledge which make them extremely valuable.

You will be given the opportunity to experience different roles within the department to develop a sound overall understanding and will always be encouraged to suggest new concepts and initiatives, in order to continuously improve the quality of what we do.

We will ensure that you are well supported both within the workplace and throughout your apprenticeship and a mentor will be assigned to you, to provide you with day-to-day support and guidance.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

• Be the first point of contact for day-to-day enquiries over the telephone and team mailboxes internally and externally. Directing them to relevant team members as required
• Utilise college computer systems effectively and efficiently
• To organise team meetings, sending out the agenda, taking and producing minutes
• Provide support to the wider team
• To build strong relationships internally, across a number of departments
• To assist with financial tasks as necessary
• To undertake any other duties as appropriate assigned by the Director of Business Development / Head of Sales Support

Other Information

You will need to be confident to make and take telephone calls.

There will be full comprehensive training alongside your Business Administrator Level 3 apprenticeship as well as three staff development days a year.

From 1st April 2021 the current wage bands are;
Age 23 and over £8.91
Age 21 to 22 £8.36
Age 18 to 20 £6.56
Under 18 £4.62
