Brief Description
This is an exciting position to join a well known doctors surgery as a receptionist apprentice. The apprentice will be split between the administration office and the reception area where they will act as the first point of contact for the surgery.
Qualifications Required
To be considered for this role you will need GCSEs at grades 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent including English and maths.
Personal Qualities
Good computer skills
Strong customer service and communication skills as well as a good telephone manner
Skills Required
Punctual, patient, reliable and a good team player.
Training to be Provided
You will gain the following qualifications:
- Business Administrator Level 3 Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Fuctional Skills in maths and English (if required).
You will also study a range of topics, including: IT, Record and document production, Decision making, Planning and organisation, Project management, Policies, Relevant regulations, Stakeholders, Processes and external environment factors.

Potential future employment by the practice or the wider primary care network.
Vacancy Detail

The key roles and responsibilities will include:
Taking calls from patients, booking customer appointments and dealing with general patient queries
Registering new patients to the surgery
Amending patient information on the database whilst keeping to GDPR regulations
Completing postal duties
Typing up letters, reports and referrals
General photocopying/printing duties
Completing the process for repeat prescription
As well as general assistance to the administration department and Practice Manager
