Brief Description

NHS Luton are looking for Apprentice Social Therapists to take up roles in Luton, Central Bedfordshire, Houghton Regis and Bedford. You will be providing support to qualified Social Therapists / Associate Nurses with the every day care of service users.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this apprenticeship you must have A*-D in Maths and English GCSE or a Level 1 equivalent

A previous qualification in Health and Social Care would be beneficial but not essential

Personal Qualities

To be considered for this position you must have a caring nature and desire to help others.

Skills Required

You will have good communication skills, have an analytical approach to your work and be able to planning and organise your workload.

NHS Luton are looking for Apprentice Social Therapists to take up roles in Luton, Central Bedfordshire, Houghton Regis and Bedford. You will be providing support to qualified Social Therapists / Associate Nurses with the every day care of service users. .

As part of this Apprenticeship, the post holder will be required to work towards their Advanced Health and Social Care (Level 2) qualification whilst learning a job role or a variety of roles. They will be expected to work four days a week with half a day/one day used for training with East London Foundation Trust’s Training Provider. The aim for the postholder is to acquire the skills, knowledge, experience and qualifications that are required for them to be able to meet the requirements of a substantive position after the completion of their apprenticeship.

JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:

To assist all ward-based staff to encourage service users to meet and spend time with other people for therapeutic purposes, to reduce feelings of isolation and to aid the recovery process.

To support the Social Therapists/Associate Nurse with every day care of service users and to observe the assessment and care plan process; observe CPA’s ward reviews, Mental Health Review Tribunals and Managers Hearings .

To provide support with individual and group activities with the service users on the ward to aid in their recovery and awareness.
