Brief Description

This Kettering company are looking for a Plumbing & Heating Engineer Apprentice to work on site for 4 days of the week and 1 day at college. They are looking for a hard worker who is enthusiastic and committed, with good practical and co-ordination skills, with an interest in plumbing & heating, to assist their experienced/qualified operatives.

Qualifications Required

You will ideally have GCSEs at grades 9 - 3 or (A*-D) or equivalent in English and maths.

Skills Required

Good communication skills, a dependable team player who is well presented and enthusiastic. The candidate should be able to work safely, effectively and use their own initiative.

Training to be Provided

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 3 Plumbing & Domestic Heating Apprenticeship
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

You will also study a range of topics, including:
Health and safety, core plumbing systems, electrical components and control systems, plumbing science and processes, principles of environmental technology systems, principles of fossil fuels, customer service and communication.

Future Prospects

Following completion of the apprenticeship the candidate may be invited to join the business on a full time basis.

• Observe the engineer in everyday plumbing and heating jobs
• Progressing to pipe bending, radiator fitting, boiler installations and all other duties required to complete the job
• Ask questions and show willingness to learn
• Ensure the working environment is safe and tidy
• Undertake any jobs asked, this could be cleaning work areas or helping with jobs
