Brief Description
Starting in September 2021, this is a four year advanced apprenticeship. As an Engineering Technician Apprentice you will ensure that equipment is maintained to a standard necessary for the production of high value manufactured products
Qualifications Required
The applicant should be educated to a minimum of GCSE level with 5 GCSEs achieved/predicted at 9 - 4 (A*-C) grade in maths, English and science (or equivalent).
Due to the current situation, please be aware that the predicted grades will be accepted when applying for an apprenticeship.
Personal Qualities
The applicant must be driven and committed to achieve with a keen sense for problem solving and being hands on with equipment with a willingness to learn and take instruction.
You should have an enthusiastic and genuine interest in engineering and be willing to study an Advanced Apprenticeship. The applicant should also be flexible and adaptable to be able to work within any production unit in the Plant.

Skills Required
Strong problem solving skills is essential for you to be successful, as well as the ability to work independently and also as a part of a high performing team.

Starting in September 2021, this is a four year advanced apprenticeship. As an Engineering Technician Apprentice you will ensure that equipment is maintained to a standard necessary for the production of high value manufactured products
Typically the work covers a broad range of activities include installation, testing, fault finding and the on-going maintenance of complex automated equipment. This requires the application of a blend of skills, knowledge and occupational behaviors across the electrical, electronic, mechanical, fluid power and control systems disciplines.
This is a four year advanced apprenticeship.
Typical roles include:
• Maintaining, repairing and improvements for all equipment as required to safely deliver the product to the customer on time, at the required quality and cost.
• Attending equipment breakdowns and working with the team to get production operational in the shortest possible timescale, using your excellent general mechanical/electrical skills
• Carry out various predictive, preventative and reactive maintenance processes, with appropriate feedback to your supervision and corrective actions to continually improve machine availability to production
• Completing various reports and developing/updating working procedures and safe practices, including risk assessments, job instructions and planned/preventative maintenance
Year 1 – 5 days a week in College completing a level 2 foundation competency qualification, starting a level 3 knowledge qualification and a 3-day gateway assessment at the end of the year.
Year 2 – 1 day a week in College, 4 days in the workplace. The day in College is to complete the level 3 knowledge qualification.
Year 3 – 5 days a week in the workplace compiling evidence to demonstrate competency.
Year 4 – 5 days a week in the workplace compiling evidence to demonstrate competency and an end point assessment.
