Brief Description
Venus are offering a fantastic opportunity as a Hairdressing Apprentice to be a part of their wonderful and supportive team in the centre of Bedford. You will be learning new skills and grow with new knowledge. The salon has state of the art, unique rooms including a Harry Potter room, Titanic room, a Hobbit Suite and many more!
Qualifications Required
The ideal candidate will have GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D) or equivalent including English and maths.

Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals, Functional Skills in English and maths (if required). You will also study a range of topics including: Consultation, Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp, Styling and finishing hair, Colouring, Cutting, Perming

Main duties:
The successful candidate will be assisting stylists in their everyday role, helping and gaining an understanding in:
-Colour treatments
-Hair cutting
-Styling
-Blow drying
-Curling
-Straightening
-Up do's
As your experience increases, you’ll work on ‘blocks’ which are life size plastic heads with real hair, and then progressing onto real human models to practise your art on. Other duties will include working on the salon’s reception, greeting clients, preparing drinks and learning your skills from Venus' Senior Stylists who will enjoy passing on their skills to you.
You will become an NVQ Level 2 qualified hair stylist with your own clients who will look up to you for advice and knowledge.
