Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will ideally have GCSE at grades 9-3(A*-D) in English and maths

Personal Qualities

• Excellent timekeeping skills with the ability to work in adverse weather
conditions
• Passionate about construction
• Practical skills with the ability to take on instructions
• Excellent communication skills, able to work in a team or on your own
• Flexible approach to working on different sites

Skills Required

• Level 1 in Carpentry
• Previous experience within construction
• Driving license

Training to be Provided

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprenticeship
- Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

Future Prospects

On successful completion of your apprenticeship you will be:
Working as a qualified tradesperson on a housebuilding development.
The top 1% of apprentices on completion may be given the opportunity to progress onto site management training.

Your time as a Trade Apprentice will be split between working outdoors on site with an experienced tradesperson learning from their years of expertise and college based study that will leave you with the essential industry qualification. It takes time to learn the quality and skills necessary to be the best and we are looking for candidates who are willing to commit the time needed to achieve the best.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Using a range of hand and power tools
• Building studwork walls and staircases
• Hanging doors
• Pitching roofs
• Wood finishing (to doors, windows and windowsills)
• Fitting kitchens
• Measuring, marking out, cutting, finishing, positioning and securing
• Safely storing materials, without causing damage
• Installing floor joist coverings
• Fitting hinges
• Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
