Brief Description

This new and exciting apprenticeship at Bedford College will require you to efficiently control and manage various Sira Building & Development Limited projects and to be the first point of contact on site for all contractors and Sira Building employees.

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will need GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 9-4 (A*-C) including maths and English and an Advanced apprenticeship in a Construction Subject or a BTEC Level 3 in Construction or Civil Engineering

Training to be Provided

You will gain the following qualifications:
- Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Construction & the Built Environment
- Level 4 CSKills Awards NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision.
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)

You will also study a range of topics including: Construction Technology, Science & Materials, Construction Practice & Management, Legal & Statutory Responsibilities in Construction, Construction information (Drawing, detailing, Specification), Surveying, measuring & Setting out, Mathematics for construction

This new and exciting apprenticeship at Bedford College will require you to efficiently control and manage various Sira Building & Development Limited projects and to be the first point of contact on site for all contractors and Sira Building employees.

Key Responsibilities:
-To be proactively involved in supporting and communicating with the Project Manager/Director throughout the duration of the various projects to ensure timely and efficient project completion
- To maintain an accurate detailed daily site diary of site conditions, progress and the resources used to undertake the work activities throughout the construction phase
-To ensure that works are carried out only when safe to do so and provide Weekly Site Safety Inspection Reports to Construction Manager/Director
-To monitor and record deliveries to site to ensure that the items are handled safely, recording and reporting all defective materials and substandard quality, ensuring that documentation and packaging is intact and that storage facilities are appropriate
-Prepare and actively participate in the project hand over process and ensure that appropriate documentary evidence is provided to the Construction Manager/Director in line with the Construction Handover Check sheet
-Maintain and promote high personal standards in discipline, environment, safety, health, site security and quality
-To promote good practice of material sustainability (reuse and/or recycle) initiatives to reduce waste and save costs
-To aid the early identification and notification of contract variances and adequately to report such issues to the Construction Manager/Director
-To ensure that Sira Building and contractor’s operatives are competent, qualified and licensed to undertake their work activities correctly, are using the required personal protection provided and are using correct handling techniques at all times. Also that all plant and equipment used is tested and certified, properly maintained, and is operated in a safe manner

The successful candidate will be expected to gain a good working knowledge of Sira Building's management requirements and procedures for the control and supervision of construction sites.
