Brief Description

Hazel Kaye is a well established and friendly salon in the Bedfordshire area. We are looking for a new apprentice to assist our stylists in all areas of the salon. The apprentice will undertake training, gain vital work experience and qualifications!

Qualifications Required

To be considered for this role you will need GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 9-3 (A*-D) including maths and English.

Skills Required

Great customer service, hard-working, attention to detail, team player

Training to be Provided

Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals, Functional Skills in English and maths (if required). You will also study a range of topics including: Consultation, Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp, Styling and finishing hair, Colouring, Cutting, Perming

Future Prospects

There may be a potential full-time position with the employer upon completion of the apprenticeship.

Vacancy Detail

Hazel Kaye is a well established and friendly salon in the Bedfordshire area. We are looking for a new apprentice to assist our stylists in all areas of the salon. You will be on a continuous journey working closely with experienced team members who will encourage and guide you in developing into a hairdresser. As well as in-house training you will attend college one day a week.

Duties will be varied, but will include the following:

- Carrying out reception duties including answering the telephone and arranging appointments in a professional manner
- Shampooing and conditioning clients
-Welcoming clients into the salon, gowning them up ready for their treatment
- Keeping the salon clean and tidy and making refreshments.
- Ensuring products are stored correctly
- To work effectively in a team, supporting the other stylists where required
- Making sure towels and supplies are ready for use
- At the end of the day ensure the salon, work stations and equipment are all clean and ready for the next day

As your skills and confidence grow within the salon you will be able to take on further responsibilities including; applying colour on clients, completing blow dries as well as and basic hair cuts.

Other Information

Must be able to travel to Oakley and Bedford College.
