Brief Description

We are looking to appoint a positive, reliable Learning Support Assistant apprentice to join our support team. You will be required to assist students with a range of special educational needs through Years 7 to 11.

Qualifications Required

You will need a minimum of three GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4,including English and maths, or Level 2 Functional Skills, or equivalent.

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:
Communication and professional relationships with children, young people and adults
Schools as organisations including types of schools, policies and procedures and the wider environment in which they operate

Preparing for and supervising learning activities and supporting learners to complete work set by the teacher
Personal development and reflective practice

Vacancy Detail

We are looking to appoint a positive, reliable Learning Support Assistant apprentice to join our support team. You will be required to assist students with a range of special educational needs through Years 7 to 11.

As a Learning Support apprentice you will be working within a dedicated team to provide academic and emotional support and to assist with the inclusion and integration of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The apprentice will be working closely with teaching staff to support pupils who are underachieving in other groups (e.g. pupils with English as an Additional Language; underachieving boys, etc.) to enable them to maximise their potential within the academic and extra-curricular opportunities available at Goldington Academy. We require someone with a positive attitude to help motivate and engage students within their learning and promote positive behaviour in the classroom.

Other Information

This role is term time only, plus training days. Due to the nature of this role, holiday or other planned absence during term time is not normally permitted.
