Brief Description
This is an opportunity to become a member of a thriving garden company. The successful candidate will undertake all aspects of garden work on multiple sites, both commercial and residential.
Qualifications Required
GCSE English and maths grades 9-3 or A*-D or Level 1 Functional Skills
Personal Qualities
The candidate will need to be punctual, enthusiastic and a hard worker, who is polite at all times.
Ideally the candidate will need to drive and have their own transport.
Skills Required
No previous experience necessary.
A positive attitude to learning is essential.
Training to be Provided
During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, which could include:
•Monitoring and maintaining health and safety
•Maintaining and developing personal performance
•Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others
•Clearing horticultural and landscaping sites
•Maintain moisture levels for crops or plants
•Provide nutrients to crops or plants
Other units will vary depending on which pathway you choose to follow.
You will gain the following qualifications:
Work-Based Horticulture City & Guilds/NPTC Level 2 Diploma
Plus...
•Emergency First Aid at Work Level 2 Award
•Employment Rights and Responsibilities
•Functional Skills in English and maths.
Future Prospects
Following the completion of your apprenticeship the successful applicant will be offered a permanent role within the company.

The garden work undertaken will cover all aspects. Some of these will involve:
- Hedge cutting
- Planting
- Weeding borders
- Pruning and shaping shrubs
- Garden clearance
- Fencing
- Fence staining
- Pressure washing hard areas

The vacancy will be based outdoors and therefore a resilience to all types of weather is a must.
