Brief Description
Salon Assistant/Apprentice that will be eager to learn quickly in a buzzing salon environment, must be friendly and show initiative.
Qualifications Required
You will need a minimum of two GCSEs which must include English and maths at grades 9 – 3 or A* - D, or equivalent and one other academic subject.
Personal Qualities
Friendly, good with there hands, eager to learn.
Skills Required
Someone that’s not afraid to have a go, be able to communicate, Have a good telephone manner and complete basic maths duties (handling money on reception).
Training to be Provided
Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals, Functional Skills in English and maths (if required). You will also study a range of topics including: Consultation, Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp, Styling and finishing hair, Colouring, Cutting, Perming
Future Prospects
Successful completion of the Apprenticeship will lead to becoming a Salon Stylist with their own clients and bookings.

Hair stylist assistants have to be outgoing with a people-pleasing personality and excellent customer service skills in addition to a working knowledge of popular hairstyles.
We are seeking a hair stylist assistants who have the following specific skills:
Hair stylist assistants use excellent customer service skills to greet clients and keep them happy during their time within the Salon
Interpersonal skills — hair stylist assistants use interpersonal skills to talk to customers about the hairstyle they want, any problems they may have styling their hair, and other hair care advise
Multitasking tasking is a big part of this role as you will be required to speak to several customers at once
Reception Duties — An ideal candidate will be confident in answering the phone, taking bookings and must have good reading and writing skills.
Communication skills —Good communication skills are important in order to work efficiently with the hair stylists and customer
Organisational skills — Hair stylist assistants need to ensure inventory and work areas are neat and well organised
Time management — Time management skills are very important in this role due to treatments being highly time-sensitive
