Brief Description
Working closely within the IT Team to provide end user support and assistance
Qualifications Required
Ideally a Level 2 on some computing qualification.
5 A-C/9-4 GCSE's
Personal Qualities
Positive can do attitude, team player, open and honest.
Good interpersonal skills. Ideally a driving license.
Skills Required
Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows and networking.
Training to be Provided
Infrastructure Technician – BCS – Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard. You will also study a range of topics including: Cabling and connectivity, Maintenance processes, Computer architecture, Numerical skills, Maintaining a secure network, Operating systems, Deploying and securely integrating mobile devices, Cloud and cloud services, Disaster recovery, Coding and logic, Business processes, Business IT skills, Communication, IT security, Remote infrastructure, Data, Problem solving, Workflow management, Health and safety, Performance, WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive)

Vacancy Detail
To support and assist in the daily operations of the IT Department
Assist with the management and administration of the IT Helpdesk System
Log all incoming support requests and escalate/fix the issues as they occur ensuring high levels of communication and keeping tickets up to-date
Complete all documentation such as check sheets, logs and ensure the IT knowledge database is maintained and kept up-to-date
Assist with monitoring and maintenance tasks to maintain the IT Network to ensure maximum network up-time across all Bowman Ingredients sites
Troubleshoot system, network and hardware/software problems implementing a systematic approach to the resolution
Assist in the set-up, configuration, installation and maintenance of computer equipment and peripherals
Assist in the set-up of new users and groups on the domain
Undertake and assist with project work as required
Adhere to the company’s hygiene, Environment, Health and Safety policies, systems and safe working practices.
Maintain and promote a clean and tidy working environment and undertake housekeeping duties
Carry out any reasonable request as requested by any member of management within the reasonable scope of the role, and look to develop cost saving initiatives where possible.
Other Information
Having the ability to travel to Bedford Collage for the day.
Ability to travel reliably to work each day including other sites in Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
